Abrasion Resistant Plate
Abrasion resisting plate is specified for a variety of harsh environments where
the impact or sliding of abrasive materials require tougher and harder steels to
improve equipment life and decrease downtime. Abrasion resistant plate steel, with
it's high Brinell Hardness ratings, is particularly suited to harsh environments.
Benefits to abrasive resisting plate include designing with high strength steels
can mean lower weight with higher payloads, stronger, higher cold weather impact
values, and can be welded by all common processes provided low hydrogen weld material
is used.
Abrasive resistant steels are not intended for structural applications and should
not be used for structural or main load bearing members. Brittle fractures may occur
at high stress levels encountered in such applications.
Typical applications include dump bodies, loading buckets for earth moving, mining,
and construction equipment, drag line bucket components, liners for chutes, hoppers,
conveyors, and wear parts for cement mixers, quarrying equipment, and shredders.
